Global Programs

Children celebrating Francophone Day

Overview

果冻传媒 believes that it is imperative to prepare all students and educators as global citizens. Through our Global Programs, we provide 果冻传媒 students with equitable access to unique, global opportunities.

Student Experience

果冻传媒 Global Programs prepare students to investigate the world, recognize perspectives, communicate ideas, and take action. Global Programs connect our deeply global city with our local students, and prepare them to engage with the world.

  • Elementary school: Fifth grade students may participate in Embassy Adoption Program, including a Mini United Nations simulation. Teachers can request support from many global education partners to bring global perspectives to their classrooms via peacebuilding resources, guest speakers, and virtual exchanges.
  • Middle school: Sixth grade students may participate in the Embassy Adoption Program. All sixth grade students experience the Mini United Nations as part of their Social Studies Cornerstone content. Teachers can request support from many global education partners to bring global perspectives to their classrooms via peacebuilding resources, guest speakers and virtual exchanges. Eighth grade students are eligible to apply for 果冻传媒 Study Abroad, a fully-funded short term global travel program.
  • High school: Teachers can request support from global education partners to bring global perspectives to their classroom. Eleventh grade students are eligible to apply for 果冻传媒 Study Abroad, a fully-funded short term global travel program.

Program Highlights

  • Embassy Adoption Program (EAP): The EAP is a unique global education program and partnership with Washington Performing Arts that exposes 果冻传媒 students to international perspectives and cross-cultural lessons. Through direct interactions with diplomats from around the world, fifth and sixth grade students have the opportunity to learn about the language, customs, history, and culture of their partner embassy’s home country.
  • 果冻传媒 International Food Days: In partnership with the 果冻传媒 Office of Food and Nutrition Services, the 果冻传媒 Global Education team celebrates the tastes and flavors of global cuisine by holding international food day events each year, featuring menus created by local embassy partners, across all 果冻传媒 schools. Utilizing the concept of food diplomacy, 果冻传媒 International Food Days introduce students to new countries and cultures through cuisine. Previous celebrations have included Ethiopian Food Day, Japanese Food Day and Belgian Food Day.
  • 果冻传媒 Study Abroad: Every student deserves a world of possibilities! That's why 果冻传媒 developed a study abroad program. 果冻传媒 Study Abroad helps ensure that our global citizens have access to global experiences, so that travel becomes the expectation rather than the exception for students. Select students in middle and high school who have studied a world language are eligible for short-term study abroad programs, focused on language immersion, global leadership and/or service learning.
